Stars

Stars are used to easily mark certain messages as important or that you need to take some action to them later. To mark message with stars open the message and in the header you can find star symbol click it and you are done. You can do it without opening the message where toy can find the Star symbol near the sender name.

You can add multiple stars symbols to mark messages with. To add other symbols go to gear icon in the top left of your Gmail account -> choose General tab, find Stars section and choose your collection.

How to get your website found and indexed by Google?

The easiest way is to use Google Add url service. Unfortunately it doesn't give you any control about the indexing process - the way that Google looks at every page on your site and saves them in it's server for people to search from. 

Google also offers another free service called Google Webmaster Tools (GWT). We recommend using it because it allows you to:

Google, the biggest search engine and a backbone of many a million online businesses rolled out its new algorithm to fight the web spam, Google Penguin. After Panda, it came as another jolt to a significant number of websites who were pulled down from their top rankings by Google. Basically, Google Penguin did the below tasks:

1. Took away the high SERPs from the spam websites.
2. Penalized the sites having low quality of backlinks coming from low quality websites.
3. Punished the websites following negative SEO or black hat SEO techniques.
4. Sites using keyword stuffing to gain high search engine rankings were tagged as spam and got axed by the Google Penguin.
5. Excessive backlinking without any quality content.
6. Websites using spun content or copied content to rank high. Plagiarism is not tolerated by Google any more.

Penguin has been there to improve the quality of the search results produced by the Google. This update came as a huge blow to the search engine traffic of some websites which had been cashing on the spam linking and keyword techniques earlier. Though according to Google’s Web Spam Team Leader Matt Cutts, only 3% of the queries have been affected. May be this is an indication from the Google that only quality  content and natural link building will be rewarded.

Though there have been cases where websites using no spamming techniques and absolutely no fake content also came under the hammer. But as we know that Google team is smart and fast enough to rectify its mistakes, there have been only very few exceptions.

How to Avoid Google Penguin After-Effects

Recovering from Algorithm updates is never easy for the webmasters. But it really takes some easy steps like below to avoid any further penalizing by Google :

• If you notice that your search engine traffic specially from Google has decreased to a significant amount, then you may have been hit by the Penguin. Try using Google Webmasters Tools to be aware of any problems on your site.
• If there has been any spun or duplicate content on your site, consider removing it right now else you will completely vanish in a few days.
• Guest post on other relevant sites as guest posting is still the most natural form of link building.
• Avoid linking from sites which are of low quality or are of high risk.
• Keywords. Yes, they are the key to the SEO. Use them only where they are needed. Do not stuff them or else it will only do bad for your website.

How to download Google Books?


Google Books is the greatest public Internet library but it’s not very convenient to read books there. First – the inbuilt reader is odd enough for long reading and contains a lot of distracting elements such as search box, navigation menus, related books, ads that divert your attention. You have to open browser each time you want to read a book at Google Books. Second, you can’t read Google Books when you are offline (there are still many places without internet connection in the world). You can’t print Google Books and read them in bed, but need to sit in front of computer screen that harms your eyes. And you can’t use your favorite E-Book Reader (such as Sony Reader, Kindle or Nook) or a mobile device that provide the most pleasant reading experience. Besides, if you use a book management software (such as Calibre or Alfa Ebooks Manager), where you use to store all your ebook library, you want to download Google Books to your hard drive. Unfortunately, Google doesn’t allow to download any book from Google Books.

But there are still 3 ways to download Google Books to your desktop:

1. Use the Google’s PDF download feature that is available for out-of-copyright books
2. Download books manually from the browser cache
3. Use a Google Books downloader

1. Use the Google’s PDF download feature for out-of-copyright books

For some out-of-copyright books Google Books provide PDF download tool, that allows users to download (and therefore print and read offline) these books. To find books you can download, click on the "Full view books" radio button before entering your search terms. Clicking on the "Download" button shown on public domain books will allow you to download a PDF of the book to your computer. Unfortunately, not all books that are fully viewable are downloadable as PDF files. The overall number of books with the full preview there is much larger.

2. Download books manually from the browser cache

The book pages that you can view in Google Books are presented as PNG images on the HTML page. So, it is possible to save any visible book page as an image to your computer. You can "save page as" in any browser and find the PNG image in the saved "files" folder. But you need to scroll the book and repeat this "save page as" operation for each page.

To make this process a little easier, you can use Internet Explorer (not Firefox). You can use the following wizard:
1. Open folder “C:\Documents and Settings\%USER%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\” of your computer machine and delete all of the content of the folder
2. Open the needed book at Google Books in Internet Explorer and scroll it down to the end (or use the page browser).
3. Open “Temporary Internet Files” folder. Copy all PNG files. These files are the pages of the scanned book
4. Now you can print the PNG files and arrange them in order for reading OR use a PDF compiler tool to create a single PDF file from multiple PNG images

3. Use a Google Books downloader

There are some tools that automate the routine operations described in the previous paragraph. But unfortunately, most of them don’t work properly – they either download only few book pages, or hang your computer, or cause ban of your Google Account. The most popular tool that was called Google Books Downloader was recently terminated by its creator. For now, the only tool that is recommended for downloading Google Books - is GooReader.


Though the primary feature of this small program is a comfortable book viewer that allows to read Google Books on your desktop, it also can convert Google Books to PDF files and save them on your computer. It works quite fast and can download a 300-pages book in few minutes. It also includes the inbuilt Google Books Search tool that shows, which books have a full view, partial preview or no preview. Google's Chrome is Britain's second most popular browser, a sign of the internet giant's increasing grip on the UK search market.

Three years after launch, Chrome last month captured 22% of UK users and marginally overtook Mozilla's Firefox browser, according to the web metrics firm Statcounter. Microsoft's Internet Explorer is losing market share to Chrome but remains the most popular browser for UK users with 45% – although it has a head start by being pre-installed on almost all computers sold in Britain. Apple's Safari is UK number four, with a 9% share.

Google's rise in the browser market is in part down to nationwide advertising – Chrome is the first Google product advertised on British TV – but is largely attributed to its speed.

Lars Bak, the Google engineer responsible for Chrome, said the goal had never been to attract a huge user base, but to energise a dormant browser market: "Speed is a fundamental part of it, but it's also about the minimal design and the way it handles security. If you as a user try [to load] a webpage and it feels snappy, it's really hard to go back [to another browser]. It has shown that people spend more time interacting with the web."

Unlike most of Google's talent based at its Mountain View headquarters in California, Bak works from a converted farmhouse in the Danish countryside two hours from Copenhagen. He has become obsessed with speed, and despite numerous tests that show Chrome outstrips all rivals, he thinks it could be much faster. "You should never be happy with [existing] speed," he said. "Of course it gets harder to make substantial gains, but it's all healthy competition. From the beginning we wanted everybody to be fast, and now all browsers are fast. I'm absolutely flabbergasted [by the improvements made by rival browsers]."

Chrome is the number three worldwide, with a 20.65% market share according to Statcounter. But analysts expect it to edge ahead of Firefox, which has dipped steadily since January. Microsoft's Internet Explorer has also fallen heavily, to 43%, with warnings about security vulnerabilities.

Google last month announced its Chromebook laptop, based on its browser and seen as another ambitious attack on Microsoft; it will be made by Samsung and Acer, companies that previously made computers running Microsoft's software.

Unlike most computers, the Chromebook has almost no capacity to store and hosts most data online in a "cloud". Bak said: "The Chromebook is really important because it tries to simplify the machine – it is basically no maintenance, which means you can cut the price. If all you are doing is using a browser it's a fantastic tool."

4. Match Any Single Word in the Search Using *

While searching, if you are not sure about which keyword to be placed in the phrase, you can match any single word using *.
