It’s possible to make a Facebook page for your blog and have it be auto updated with every post you make on your blog. This means that Facebook users and other Facebook pages can ‘Like’ your blog page, and every time you update it they will see it in their newsfeed. The Page itself will looksomething like this (my Facebook blog page, feel free to like itJ), and making your page is very simple indeed.
- Log into Facebook.com with your normal account (assuming you have one).
- Follow this link to the section where you can make a page.
- The best option to choose is “Brand or product” then select “Website” from the drop down list. Your blog name should be the name of the brand or product.
- You then end up with a welcome page like this:
Upload an image, very important. Use something which reflects the them of your blog. If you use Windows 7 the Snipping Tool is great for this.
- We don’t want to invite friends just yet. First we sync the page with our blog. Click on Edit Info towards the top of the page, you will then come to a page with the following options, Click on Apps:
- You will have these options, select notes à edit settings
- The following window will pop up, click add, then OK.
- Next, click “Go to application”.
- You will be on a page with lots of notes. Look on the left, towards the bottom, you will see “Edit Import Settings”. Click on this.
- You will then be asked to import from a web address; this should be the full address of the home page of your blog. You will also need to check a check box. Then click “start importing”
- Next you need to confirm it is right; And now your page contains the last six or so posts from your blog, and will update within an hour or so of any new posts. You can invite whichever friends you want to like it, you can link to the page from your blog and on and on. Good luck, let me know if it works and I’ll like your page too.
